WALK-IN RENTAL

We accept walk-in rentals Thursday-Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. On Mondays-Wednesdays, we only accept appointments, which can be scheduled here. If you need to schedule an appointment with less than 24 hours of notice, call us.

We charge by the day for rentals: 100% of the price of the costume for the first day, and 50% of the price of the costume for each following day.

Rentals can be reserved in advance or taken same-day. During Halloween season, we encourage early reservations for the best selection.

If you need more than 5 costumes please send us the measurements in advance to pull items. If you need them in less than 48 hours a rush fee may be charged based on quantity of costumes.

Costumes can be returned Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

RESERVATIONS

For costumes to be officially reserved, the rental fee must be paid in full. Costumes may be placed on hold without payment until 6 pm the following day.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE FEE

Our costumers take care of all cleaning for you! We ask that you do not do any laundering processes on our costumes. A fee of 22% of the initial rental price will be applied for the cleaning and maintenance of all items.

REPAIRS

All items are expected to be in good condition upon return. If a repair needs to be made on a costume that we rent to you, please contact us to let us know.

DO NOT use safety pins to alter or repair a piece, it only worsens the tear and causes a safety risk to the performer. NEVER use tape on the garments as it leaves a residue that damages the costume.

DAMAGES

Fees will be imposed for all damaged costumes. These fees will be determined on a per-item basis and can be up to 100% of the rental list price. If an irreparable damage is present, a replacement fee will be applied, which will be more than the rental list price. Any fees assessed for distress will be applied to the credit card on file after we have contacted you via phone and email. Damage is defined as, but not limited to:

• Any costume with exposure to smoke of any kind

• Any tear in the garment longer than 1/2" or any tear against the grain of the fabric

• Any garment that is stained or requires additional cleaning procedures

• Any alterations not previously approved by Archive management

• Missing buttons or closures

• Any item with adhesives or adhesive residue

• Any distress due to pinning of the garment

• Any distress due to improper shipping methods

LATE FEES

Any item not returned by the contracted return date is subject to a late fee. A fee of 50% of the price of each costume piece per day will be applied, which will be charged to the credit card on file.

If the costume is not returned by 2 weeks after the contracted return date, we will charge a replacement fee to the credit card on file.

REPLACEMENT FEES

Replacement fees can be 5-8 times the rental list price, and they will be charged to the credit card on file. Replacement fees may be assessed for the following reasons:

• Items not returned within the 2-week late period

• Any permanent alterations to a garment

• Any irreparable distress or damage to a garment

VINTAGE GARMENTS

Due to the irreplaceable nature of Archive's vintage garments, the replacement fee for any garment from the 1960s or earlier will be 10 times the rental list price and distress fees can be up to 2 times the rental list price. Please keep in mind that older garments tend to be more fragile and assessment of distress or replacement fees is stringent. Vintage garments are unavailable for rental to any middle, junior high, or high school, or similar production.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

• Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express

• Cash

• Personal checks

• Business checks

Returned checks will be handled through Check-Rite Services and the customer may be charged additional fees according to their rates.

LEGAL FEES

Any fees that are incurred as a result of legal proceedings are the responsibility of the lessee.  Permanent suspension of rental privileges may result for any account sent to collections.  Jurisdiction for all disputes shall be the State of Utah, County of Utah, and shall be decided pursuant to the laws of Utah. All parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of Utah courts.
